About the Job: The primary responsibility of the Laboratory Technician is to provide accurate high quality results while promoting a prompt turn around time on all sample submissions.
Performs results data entry, review and release of test results through Laboratory Information System (LIS).
Performs CBC?s including a 100 cell count manual differential.
Loads specimens on the chemistry analyzer, troubleshoot dilutions and short samples, verify and accept results.
Performs coagulation tests, PT & PTT and fibrinogen.
Loads specimens on immunochemistry analyzer, troubleshoot errors, verify and accept results.
Performs urinalysis including microscopic analysis.
Blood bank testing including crossmatches and blood typing.
Performs various serology ELISA and latex agglutination testing.
Performs microscopic fecal analysis.
Troubleshoots analyzer issues and LIS issues.
Maintains water baths and stock supplies throughout lab as needed.
Schedule Information: Schedule to be determined.
RVT or MLT license preferred but not required.
1-2 years laboratory experience preferred.
Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrate time management skills, excellent follow through and attention to detail.
Have a working knowledge and be efficient with computers.
Must be available to work different and extra shifts as needed, this includes weekend, day, night and holiday shifts.
Proven experience in multi-tasking and prioritizing with attention to detail.
Experience in lab work with excellent working knowledge of laboratory tests.
Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adjust to a changing environment.
Ability to interact with a diverse staff.

Under general supervision of the Hospital Service Manager, this individual leads the clinical team with a focus on high-quality, comprehensive, accessible, supportive and personalized care for all clients and patients. Ensures adequate staffing levels support staff across designated departments in order to provide effective medical services and an optimal client experience. Serves as the liaisons between leadership and the staff. Supports and exemplifies the mission, vision and core values of the company.
This role is 75% technical and 25% administrative and is non-exempt.
Responsibilities (in addition to technical responsibilities)
Participates in identifying and planning for staffing consistent with needs of client population and budgetary parameters.
Understands workflow of the department(s).
Provides input with problem-solving efforts for daily operations.
Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships across the hospital.

Advocates satisfaction of internal and external customers.
Serves as the hospital ?go to? in accordance with assigned duty schedule.
Collaborates with staff at all levels and departments to streamline delivery of services without compromising care or hospitality.
Participates in hiring and onboarding of staff and performance reviews.
Coordinates the required training and skills of staff.
Notifies Hospital Director of equipment service needs.
Education, License and Job Requirements:
Certification or licensing is required for the position.
5 or more years of experience as a Veterinary Technician.
3 or more years in a supervisor/managerial role.
