YOUR DAY As an EKG Technician you need to know how to: Perform electrocardiographic examinations and procedures andexaminations for adult and pediatric patients, ensuring proper documentationand clerical duties associated with the exams. This position is accountablefor recognizing abnormal results and reporting to physicians. Operate an EKG machines to detect and record the electronicimpulses transmitted by the heart during and between heartbeats. Perform ECG tracings, recognizing abnormal or technicallyinadequate results and report these results to the physician. Implement and discontinue monitor systems to patients for 24 hourmonitoring. Perform Signal Averaged ECGs. Prepare patients and perform testing according to thephysician's orders. Follow departmental policy and procedure for performing andprocessing all procedures including proper ordering, charging, computerentry, copy, filing, and distributing. YOUR EXPERIENCE We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which iswhy we require: High School diploma or equivalent, required Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification, or obtaincertification within one month of employment, required Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
