Kelly Services Laboratory Assistant in Westminster, Colorado
16.00-18.00 (depending on experience)
Position Summary The Laboratory Assistant I, under general supervision, performs basic duties to support the laboratory. Routine tasks include washing glassware, cleaning and maintaining instrumentation, ordering, and intake of materials.
Essential Job Functions
Clean and maintain instrumentation
Clean cover tiles
Receive and track incoming packages
Mail outgoing packages
Maintain chemical inventory and other inventories, as assigned
Assist laboratory staff with moving equipment, lab organization, etc.
Read, understand, and comply with laboratory protocols and procedures (SOPs)
Maintain laboratory block and antibody logs
Use asset management software to track location of slides
Perform equipment troubleshooting and maintenance call-outs
Other duties and special projects, as assigned
High school diploma, or equivalent
Professional demeanor, upbeat attitude, and willingness to learn
Strong organizational skills with a focus on attention to detail and accuracy to ensure high quality standards are consistently met
Solid computer skills and ability to learn new software applications/systems quickly
Ability to work effectively in a very fast-paced, changing environment, both independently and as part of a team
Associate’s degree or higher
College level coursework in life sciences
Experience with life science equipment and technology
Knowledge of basic techniques such as reagent dilutions, pipetting, aliquoting, and centrifuging
