*Position Summary: *This position supports the mission of North Suburban Medical Center, by optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.
TheMedical Assistant IIassists with patient examinations and treatments, performs various tests, and maintains medical equipment and supplies. Assesses needs of patients, must be able to distinguish between an emergency and non-emergency situation and prioritize accordingly. Maintains a professional and workable relationship with providers. Documents all activities in the medical record neatly and appropriately. Transfers to other sites may be necessary from time to time. When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
*Position will start at approximately 20 hours per week, no weekends. An interest in eventually moving to part-time or full-time is preferred.*Position Requirements:* * *
A. *Licensure/Certification/Registration: *MA Certification required.LPN, EMT or sufficient previous MA work experience. BLS required.
B. *Education:Graduate of accredited Medical Assistance program//*
C. *Experience:* Previous wound care experience preferred. Good clerical and administrative skills. Ambulatory services/clinic experience desirable.
D. Special Qualifications:Knowledge of sterile technique, patient teaching methods for all ages.
Degree of supervision required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Manager-Wound Care & Hyperbarics. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
