Here is some of what you can expect from being a Lab AssistantCoordinator with us: You will coordinate and oversee the diagnostic services for inpatientsand outpatients to provide accurate test results in a timely manner You will assign duties to the Lab Assistants performing phlebotomy,pathology tasks, and testing on tissues and body fluids in compliance withall standards set by applicable regulatory agencies including CAP, JCAHO,CLIA, and OSHA You will assume responsibilities for teaching and training that mayextend to staff in departments other than the Laboratory You will maintain knowledge of all procedures and protocols You will maintain proficiency in performance of technical proceduresincluding phlebotomy and will assist in the core lab You will review and maintains all logs, writes policy and proceduresand trains laboratory assistants You will manage day-to-day operations within your assigned area ofcoverage, and maintain effective communication with staff members,Supervisors, Lab Director, Pathologists, other hospitals, hospitaldepartments, physicians, medical offices, reference laboratories and allLaboratory clients You will respond to lab requests and concerns You will perform blood collection and process specimens and blood tests Qualifications you will need for this role: Phlebotomy Certification A.A.S. or related field (Chemistry, Biology, etc.) preferred Two years minimum experience as a Phlebotomist Able to perform venipunctures and capillary collection for specimenprocurement with the knowledge of age-related techniques, physicalstructure, and amounts of blood to be obtained North Suburban Medical Center is the highest-quality hospital in northDenver.
