3D Systems, Inc. Senior, Biomedical Designer in Littleton, Colorado

3D Systems Healthcare is seeking a results driven Biomedical Designer fluent in 3D computer aided design to support product development activities. This position participates in developing medical device products by creating designs for evaluation and testing from additive manufacturing processes. In addition, this role is responsible for developing workflows, authoring work instructions, and proving input to the quality assurance requirements for the device. The Biomedical Designer works with the project team including customers and surgeons to drive the creation of products that meet requirements on time and within budget. Additional requirements include:

  • Gathering input to product design from key stakeholders on the project team

  • Generation and iteration of concepts and prototypes from a variety of 3D printers and materials in both metel alloys and polymers

  • Solicitation of feedback from the project team and customer

  • Creation of workflows for the design, case report, build file preparation, and printer parameters for patient matched medical devices

  • Documentation of work instructions to reduce the product design workflow to practice with process control

  • Participation on product validation teams

  • Support of process improvement initiatives to improve quality and reduce cost with design workflows

  • Provide input to software development projects to create best in class software tools

  • Helps to create training documents and samples to facilitate surgeon and designer training modules

  • Other responsibilities as directed

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $54,200 - $75,800 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data)

  • In addition to a salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based upon company performance.

Education

  • BA or BS in design or related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience

  • More than 5 years of medical device design using CAD software packages and design tools such as Geomagic Freeform

  • Good knowledge of orthopedic surgical techniques and devices

  • Working know-how of human anatomy with respect to musculoskeletal structures

  • Experience with graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign
