Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensiveprovider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experiencedPhlebotomist/MA to work at our Thornton and Lakewood locations. Thisposition requires a phlebotomist in Lakewood on Monday and Thursday andTuesday would be at the Thornton location (24 hours/week). This part-time position offers a full benefit package to include PTO,medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long termdisability, profit sharing, and more. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients asordered. Assures pre-authorizations and completes appropriate consent(ABN) prior to collection of limited coverage tests.-Maintains proper documentation as described by the quality assurance programincluding accessioning logs, equipment records and checklists.-Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures that all supplies areviable before using for patient collection.-Processes incoming orders for lab testing.-Updates and files all daily paperwork and lab logs.-Operates designated laboratory equipment as directed.-Uses equipment effectively, skillfully and efficiently. Maintains equipmentand work area as directed.-Performs waived lab testing under CLIA guidelines for personnel. Recordsproper lot numbers of all controls, calibrator, and reagents for waivedlab tests.-Complies with regulatory agency standards. Adheres to all OSHA compliancelaws and Universal Precaution procedures.-Properly disposes of hazardous materials. POSITION REQUIREMENTSPosition requires 3 or more years experience. High school diploma orequivalent is recommended. Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomyrecommended. All candidates are required to pass a drug screening andbackground check prior to hire.
