Managed Business Solutions Dam Safety Engineer in Lakewood, Colorado
Managed Business Solutions is seeking is seeking a Dam Safety Engineer with water resources engineering and dam safety engineering experience to work on dam safety projects. This is a demanding, multi-disciplinary environment that supports a nationwide dam safety program. The candidate for this position should be able to take direction from and work with the onsite contract and federal senior engineering staff to support BIA dam safety engineering needs. The Candidate should be experienced with HEC-RAS 5.0, HEC-HMS 4.2, ArcGIS, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD, MS Office (including Excel and Word.) The candidate should be familiar with FEMA, USACE, USBR guidelines as well as other dam safety related topics like dam safety risk analysis. The position may require travel up to 5 times per year typically for a week or less at a time supporting onsite inspections, data survey and collection, emergency action planning, regional and national meetings.
4 years of experience related to dam safety engineering in one of the following disciplines: geotechnical, engineering geology, structural, hydrologic/hydraulic. Experience shall include dam related: inspection, design, construction and/or risk analyses.
Work with contract and federal management to lead engineering, scientific and other support staff in the performance of the dam safety, engineering processes and resultant products to support the needs of the BIA’s Dam Safety, Security and Emergency Management Branch.
Advise federal management, scientists, engineers, dam tenders, and tribal members on dam safety program management as it pertains to an exhaustive scope of services in both a formal (presentation) and informal (conversation) setting.
Support the multi-disciplinary needs of the BIA’s respective programs.
Support various needs of the project and the dynamic schedule inherent in a nationwide science and engineering program.
Communicate professionally and effectively with a variety of subject-matter experts and project contributors.
Familiarity with Federal Guidelines for Dam Safety.
Familiarity with standards of practice related to dam safety engineering, dam design, dam rehabilitation, dam construction, and dam safety emergency action planning.
Minimum: B.S. in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related engineering degree required; M.S. in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or related engineering degree preferred.
P.E. or P.G. registration required (registration must be issued by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico).

This position will be mostly stationary requiring some movement around the office and frequent communication with others. The average working hours will be 8 hours per day for this position.
