Environmental Chemical Corp. Corporate Health and Safety Manager - CSP in Lakewood, Colorado

Description ECC is seeking a Corporate Health and Safety Manager. Thishigh level, broad spectrum position is primarily responsible for ensuringcompliance with health and safety requirements company wide on largedesign-build, construction, environmental remediation, disasterresponse, and munitions response projects as defined by Company standards,governmental regulations, and contractual obligations. This position mayoversee loss prevention in concurrent multiple or large projects encompassinga number of subcontractors. Position may be filled in our Denver CO, SanAntonio, TX, or other ECC office locations. Travel is required. In thisrole yOversee Corporate Safety and Industrial Hygiene ProgramsMaintain and update Corporate Health / Safety proceduresPrepare and/or approve Accident Prevention Plans (APP)Promote health and safety programs at project sitesOversee the completion of Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) preparation andacceptanceFacilitate health and safety training for Company staff, subcontractors,and any parties required to participate to ensure achievement of exceptionalhealth and safety performance including developing training content anddelivering course informationAuthor health and safety related documentation (reports, logs,records, and site specific risk mitigation plans), completing requiredinformation for daily reports and client communications in a timely andaccuratDevelop and manage air monitoring programs for projectsEnsure that all documentation is organized and uploaded to the project portalSharePoint siteProvide oversight to subcontractors, clients, and project team members toensure that project activities are completed according to applicable APP(s)Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess health and safety planadherence as well as identify potential loss and riskTake appropriate actions to prevent loss and mitigate risk in accordance toCompany standards and practicesEnsure that deficiencies are corrected in a timely manner and to acceptablemeasuresRepresent the Company in a positive and professional manner in client andregulatory agency interactions, serving as the primary point of contact forsite health and safetyCollaborate with Project Managers to ensure that health and safety activitiesare incorporated effectively into project plansReport health and safety incidents to the Company Incident DatabaseConduct related investigations thoroughly, completing associateddocumentation accuratelyEnsure implementation and documentation of corrective actionsVerify implementation and close-out corrective actionsProvide mentoring, direction, and subject matter expertise to Health andSafety Supervisors and/or junior level staffAnticipate staffing needs and work with HR and Project Management to identifyand hire Health / Safety personnel as neededAs requested, participate in employment interviews and make hiringrecommendations. As needed, provide performance feedback regarding juniorlevel staffInterface effectively with senior management, escalating issuesappropriately and making recommendations regarding policy and procedureReview of qualifications of subcontractorsIn addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities,tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of thepositionRequirements:Certified Safety Professional(CSP)Construction industry experienceThe ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tactAn aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoningDemonstrated success in teaching others health and safety concepts andrequirementsExperience managing a team of direct reportsSkilled in leading others without formal reporting authorityProven knowledge of US Army Corps of Engineers EM 385 1-1Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and WindowsFive years of progressive work experience in a position directly related tohealth and safety to include regional or corporate level managementEducation: A Bachelor's degree in
