IBM Watson Health- Editorial Manager in GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colorado
The Editorial Manager for Drug Information will lead a team of healthcare professionals in the research, creation, and evaluation of clinical content used in multiple clinical decision support solution. This position is responsible for managing personnel, policies, procedures and product deliverables.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate operations and activities of assigned areas in alignment with company objectives and goals.
Evaluate data to identify and resolve inconsistencies and intervene in actual or potential safety and risk management issues. Communicate pertinent information in a timely manner.
Establish policies and procedures to maximize the efficiency of the department operations, coordinate workload with outside vendors as needed, continually monitoring turnaround time, quality, and progress towards goals.
Coordinate projects, resources, and deadlines with other managers both within the Editorial department and with other functional departments. Continually evaluate assignments and reallocate resources as needed to meet all project and product deadlines.
Demonstrate judgment and self-sufficiency in effective problem-solving while serving as the operational resource for assigned areas. Work with individuals representing other departments to find and implement solutions.
Develop yearly editorial plans for content productivity and continuously monitor progress to plan.
Develop budgets for various components of the department and track expenditures to budget throughout the year.
Evaluate job performances of direct reports, including potential promotions, salary adjustments, and disciplinary procedures. Work with direct reports on developing talent and skills.
Interview, evaluate, and hire qualified new personnel when needed.
Identify and manage efficiencies and innovations.
Cooperate and collaborate as an active member of the Editorial management team.
Work with Offering Management, Sales, and Marketing to understand market trends and customer needs to drive assigned content areas to meet company goals.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Healthcare degree required. Knowledge of drug information preferred.
Demonstrated ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibilities over time
Ability to solve problems and independently organize work
Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members and at all levels of the organization
Ability to think creatively and focus on opportunities for improvement and growth for individuals and the department
Ability to lead a group of professionals and a desire to work as a team
Previous management or team lead experience required
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
- Knowledge of drug information preferred.
