Community Hospital RN-Interventional Radiology, PRN in Grand Junction, Colorado

The Job: This position is responsible for providing all aspects of nursing care for exams and procedures and all RN duties associated with position, by performing the following duties in accordance with Community Hospital and the Radiology Department?s policies and procedures.

Work Schedule: PRN

Location: Community Hospital

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Upon admission to the Radiology department, completes medical history, takes vital signs, check for allergies, start IV?s, etc.

  • Under the direction of the Radiologist, completes outpatient procedures on assigned patients.

  • Upon discharge, prepares patient to be transported to the unit or home, explains the discharge instructions, and verifies that a responsible adult will transport the patient to his/her home.

  • Reviews chart to verify Medication orders, lab requests, Radiology orders; consults, etc. are properly transcribed and have actually been ordered.

  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and Radiologist direction.

  • At the beginning of the procedure will perform an assessment on each patient. Notes any changes in patients? condition, notifying the medical provider of changes as necessary. Including vital signs etc and provides information to the performing Radiologists. Completes the time out form and verification of correct site marking prior to start of procedure.


  • Associate?s Degree (Bachelor?s Degree preferred).

  • Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse.

  • At least one (1) year of general nursing experience and critical care courses are preferred, with interventional Radiology procedure experience preferred.

  • Current ACLA/BCLS PALS preferred

This position's pay range is: $25.75 ? 42.05 per hour, depending on education and experience.
