This position isresponsible for providing personal care assistance to residents at TheCommons. The employee is expected to have basic knowledge of publicrelations, purchasing and hospitality. Employee musthave regular attendance/punctuality, be able to cooperate with others,and be completely honest. Other assigned duties include:1. Providing protective oversight of residents, to include assistingresidents, maintaining a safe physical environment, redirecting andassisting disoriented or confused residents, applying and following houserules and honoring resident rights, appropriately reporting and assistingresidents experiencing difficulties, and identifying and monitoring visitorsto the facility.2. Providing social supervision, including helping with transport andambulation to events, assisting with communication of and attendance tosocial events, sending, delivering and reading mail upon request, andassisting with general socialization.3. Providing for the sanitation and safety of residents, includingmonitoring the safety of the living and common areas, removing and reportingany safety hazards, maintaining safety supplies, redirecting residentsaway from unsafe areas or situations, etc.4. Assisting with transportation, including assisting riders on and off ofthe transport bus or van.5. Doing laundry, including resident's personal laundry, (linens,towels, aprons, washcloths as needed), and cleaning of laundry areas.6. Participating in education and training, and then demonstratingcompetency in the administration of resident medications and accuratedocumentation.7. Providing cleaning of resident apartments, common areas, and work areas.8. Assisting residents with personal care needs (bathing, dressing,taking them to the dining room, preparing them for bed, etc).9. Promoting and participating in positive customer relations by learningand using resident names; acknowledging residents and visitors; answeringthe phone as needed; having knowledge of the facility, where to directpeople, and how to access resources; maintaining confidentiality; anddemonstrating a positive attitude.10. Answering radio, pager, and the resident request system.11. Serving drinks, cleaning tables, and cleaning dishes.12. Performing minor first aid.13. Providing protective oversight of the residents.14.
