JOB TITLE: Instructor of Nursing PN ProgramREQUIREMENTS:A current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse inColorado.A minimum of one year of clinical experience relevant to the area(s) ofresponsibility with not less than 2 years of full-time (or equivalent)professional nursing practice.Hold a minimum of a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college oruniversity with national nursing accreditation. If the degree is non-nursing, the individual must have a Bachelor'sDegree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and demonstrateevidence of the graduate degree being in a field relevant to the area ofresponsibility, OR A Bachelor is Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or universityand submit a written plan demonstrating ongoing progression in obtaining agraduate degree in nursing within 3 years of hire.DUTIES:Supervise students' performance of clinical skills in the lab and/orclinical setting. The clinical faculty/clinical scholar to student ratio isnot more than 1:10.Collaborate with nursing faculty and agency contacts to arrange for clinicalexperiences in local health care facilities.Demonstrate clinical skills as needed for student learning.Supervise student performance of clinical skills and patient care.Evaluate student performance in the clinical setting, including clinicalwritten assignments under the direction and supervision of nursing faculty.Reinforce theoretical and clinical content with nursing examples and clinicalexpectations.Develop positive relationships with other faculty, students and the clinicalsites.Facilitate socialization of students into the professional registered nurserole.Teach assigned classes. This includes content preparation with an emphasis onstudent engagement and adult learning theory.Classroom management skills and use of the university's learning managementsystemplatform required.Presenting to all students attending class, in writing and within the timespan established by departmental policy, a course description, policies,and grading criteria.Establishing, posting and keeping a minimum of five office hours weeklyduring each academic term of the academic year.The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester; some assignedcourses may be taught face-to-face, on-line, hybrid, or via distancedelivery modalities.SHIFT: Normal, day shift - dependent on courses taught.WAGE: 50,000.00 - 60,000.00.
