Schedule is Monday to Thursday withthe occasional evening or weekend.Jefferson County Public Health clinic services provides direct healthcareservices for clients seeking services in Family Planning, STD, HIV,Adult Health, and Immunizations programs. The Clinic Assistant/MedicalAssistant provides both clinical and administrative support to staff workingin the clinic programs. The clinic provides services related to birth controland contraception, pregnancy testing and options counseling, testing forsexually transmitted diseases and HIV, and immunizations. When you're ready to learn, grow, and make acontribution to your community, find your career with us.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Prepare and stock exam roomsPerforms venipuncture and finger stick blood collections; performs andinterprets a variety of CLIA waived tests including pregnancy tests, HIV,Hepatitis C point of care tests, and hemoglobin.Responsible for quality assurance testing using controls on all CLIA testsdone within the labProcesses all lab specimens to be sent out to external labs, includinglabeling, ensuring completeness and accuracy of lab requisition forms, andpackaging for pick-up while following all procedures for proper handling ofbodily, and potentially infectious, materials.Assists providers with various medical procedures, including: handlinginstruments, maintaining a sterile instrument field; gathering materialsand preparing the treatment room for the procedure, cleaning the room aftera procedure which may include cleaning up biohazard materials, instrumentcleaning, and providing comfort and support to a patient during the procedure.Uses the electronic health record to enter lab orders, results, and labcommunication notes for nurses.Maintains computer records and paper files, as needed.Performs administrative functions such as greeting clients, answering phonesand scheduling appointments, and collecting demographic and medical informationProvides services to participants in the syringe access program as needed.Oversees pharmaceutical outlet in clinic, which includes ordering ofmedications and managing inventory.Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of medical and lab equipment andarranging for repairs as needed.QUALIFICATIONS:Required Qualifications:High School diplomaMinimum one year of experience working as a Medical Assistant, ClinicAssistant, phlebotomist or related role in the Healthcare field deliveringdirect patient services.Familiarity working with electronic health records, HIPAA and protectingpatient confidentiality.Have basic k
