The Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator will be responsible forimplementation and enforcement of policies to ensure a safe and healthy workenvironmentESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:The primary leader and contact for all environmental, health andsafety-related matters.Continuous improvement of environmental, health and safety procedures forall areas of the company, including preparation and scheduling of trainingto cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.Oversee, Implement and maintain a robust environmental, health and safetyprogram involving hazard identification evaluation and control,accident/injury prevention, hazardous material/waste management,emergency preparedness, fire/life safety, ergonomics, industrialhygiene, and environmental regulatory compliance.Lead, schedule and document regularly scheduled safety meetingsPromote a positive health and safety culture and drive the continuousimprovement of health and safety throughout our business. Integrate safetyinto the day-to-day activities of all employees and make recommendations tomanagement to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents.Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal/OSHA, CO state and locallegislation and regulations. Incorporate any updates in law/regulations intothe health and safety policy.Develop and implement EHS inspection and audit policies and procedures, anda schedule of routine inspections. Prepare inspection reports and ensureaction is taken to resolve any discrepancies and/or workplace safety concernsConduct new employee orientation related to EHS policies and conduct ongoingperiodic training through developed programs for all existing employeesPrepare and maintain a company training matrixEnsure all Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accessible according to OSHA rulesand regulations and they are continually maintained and updatedOther duties as assignedWORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ABILITIES:Ability to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offerbackground check, physical and drug screeningPhysically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used forinspections.Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety andHealth, or related field with 5 years relevant manufacturing industryexperience, preferredIndustry recognized qualifications including Certified Safety Professional(CSP) Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHHM), OSHA trainingcourses and other safety experience in a manufacturing environment preferredExtensive knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations andpoliciesStrong leadership ability and skills to visibly promote a robust safetycultureExcellent written and verbal communication skills, in order to work with,provide advice to, train, and promote excellence in Health and Safety toall stExcellent analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and negotiationskillsProficient in technology and equipment used in environmental/safetyinspectionsExcellent computer skillsJob DetailsType: SalaryCompensation Range: $55,000 - $80,000 yearBonus Eligibility: NoReports To: General ManagerShift: FirstClosing Date: Open unti filledDate posted: 02-17-2021All qualified applications will receive consideration for employment withoutregard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genderidentity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.Transwest is an equal opportunity employer.
