UCHealth Paramedic in Fort Collins, Colorado
Responds to calls for emergency medical services and provides patient care as directed and/or determined necessary.
Work Schedule: Full Time Rotating
Navigates ambulance to patient's location. Provides stabilization of scene and requests additional assistance as necessary.
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury and patient's history from available sources. Administers emergency medical care within scope of practice, including patient stabilization, monitoring, and resuscitation, from the scene to receiving medical facility.
Contacts medical personnel, reports/records observations, and follows directives.
Maintains equipment, restocks supplies and cleans ambulance as necessary.
Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Credentials: * Advanced Cardiac Life Support* Basic Life Support* Driver's License* EMT-Paramedic* National Registry EMT
Other information: Minimum Required Education: HS Diploma or GED. Required Licensure/Certification: National Certification as determined at position level. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Current State Licensure as an EMT-P. Valid Driver's License. Minimum Experience: None required.
BLSthrough the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for theProfessional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPRcard must be good through sixty days of hire. All life supportcertification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association orthe American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Crossfor the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will needto be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)
The pay range for this position starts between $21.06 and $31.59
An annual bonus may be paid to eligible employees based upon organizational and individual performance.
