UCHealth Director Emergency Medical Services in Fort Collins, Colorado
Full-time Director Emergency Medical Services (Chief) opportunity with UCHealth; position physically based in Fort Collins with oversight of a team spanning Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Longmont, and other Northern Colorado areas. Directs the EMS program activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and UCHealth. Focus on patient and staff experience in a pre-hospital setting, financial management of resources, strategic planning, and innovation to enhance technology.

UCHealth EMS is the 4 th largest EMS program in Colorado with goals of ongoing expansion. What makes this EMS program unique is it’s a hospital-based program which allows a unique pre-hospital model that establishes a care model that truly follows the entire continuum of care of a patient. This team consist of 270+ team members and 29 ambulance units.
Direct a leadership team to deliver collaborative, integrated EMS for 3 divisions (NLCERA/WELD/IFT) with seven 911 contracts and Inter-Facility Division servicing various Hospitals, Internal and External healthcare facilities throughout the Northern Colorado region. 911 Coverage area includes 2500+ square mile response area including urban areas and remote mountain wilderness. Full-service department for 911 calls, transfers, critical care transports, and a sister airlift program. 31,000+ calls for service last year.
911 , Special Operations, All Hazards Response Team and Tactical Medical Unit Special Event coverage.
Oversight of a robust leadership team include 4 Managers, 1 Program Manager of QA/Education, Fleet Maintenance Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Volunteer/Special Events Coordinator, Captain of each division.
This position includes strong emphasis on collaboration with partner agencies, hospital teams and community member with emphasis on relationships that meet the visions and expectations of those agencies specific community needs
·Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
·Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
·Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
·Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
·Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
·Bachelor’s degree in related field, Masters preferred
·5 years of clinical leadership experience
