About the Position: Position is located in the Department of Behavioral Health, AMIOP, Fort Carson, CO.

Responsibilities

Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for at-risk behavioral health patients in an outpatient setting under the supervision of assigned program privileged providers.

Monitor patient enrollment and participation, and maintain patient accountability and training.

Assist with direct treatment and management of behavioral health patients with a variety of complex behavioral health problems.

Administer psychological test batteries, such as psychoeducational or personality test instruments to evaluate patients.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes evaluating behavioral health patients, assisting in providing psychological counseling services, and maintaining client files. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Psychology, Human Services, Child & Family Welfare, Counseling (ex. crisis, substance abuse, mental health, chemical dependence), Family and Community Services, Behavioral Science, Human Development, Social Work, Sociology, Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling, or related field of study. OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
