QuarterLine is currently seeking a full time Psychiatrist to join our team at  Ft. Carson. As an employee of QuarterLine, you will have the opportunity to treat active duty personnel, military retirees, eligible veterans, and their enrolled family members.

Specific Tasks: The duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Duties as a Practitioner and Consultant in Psychiatry with emphasis on problems of all levels of complexity and must come to the position with knowledge and experience (ideally working with the military population) providing treatment services in any capacity including, but not limited to, inpatient service, partial hospitalization service, intensive outpatient services, routine outpatient services, consultation liaison services and must be well-versed to transition to any area as required.

  • Treatments require very advanced knowledge and/or skill and selection from a variety of alternatives. Physician makes recommendations on major diagnostics and treatment plans. Physician provides continuing follow-up care for chronic inpatients and outpatients with acute disorders and complications of these disorders, such as psychosis, organic brain syndrome, substance abuse/addictions, etc. and provides psychiatric care for walk-in patients presenting with acute illnesses of minor and major proportions.

  • The physician is expected to exercise initiative and sound judgment in establishing evaluation techniques, developing treatment and rehabilitation plans and providing appropriate therapeutic treatment services.

  • Examines and conducts thorough studies of presenting patients and evaluates laboratory and clinical findings, prescribing appropriate treatment or referring patient to appropriate specialty clinics. Collaborates with physicians in other medical specialties on cases involving complicated and multifaceted problems and provides professional consultation, supervision, and collaborative medical support to other professional staff such as psychologists, advanced practical nurses, social workers, as well as military specific liaison work with commanders.

  • Consultation with operational unit leaders, endeavors to identify Soldiers with BH issues early in the course of their psychopathology and provides appropriate treatment and recommendations for disposition, such as medical retirement or administrative separation. The cases assigned to the incumbent would be higher levels of complexity to include PTSD, psychosis, bipolar, etc.

  • Directs Quality Assurance studies within his/her area of responsibility and makes decisions that have a serious impact on the lives of others, such as recommending hospitalization or determining a service member's fitness for duty or assessing and completing Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), Temporary Disability Retirement List (TDRL) evaluations, psychological autopsies, sanity boards, command consultations, and other administrative processes as required and prepares reports of such evaluations according to regulations

  • Identifies patient treatment needs and arranges for a safe therapeutic outcome. Incumbent accomplishes special program assignments such as training, program coordination, research, analysis, and consultation as required.

  • Provides training to residents by giving lectures, demonstrations, and conducting ward rounds.

     

Minimum Qualifications:  

  • Experience:Must have a minimum of 2 years of documented current clinical independent experience and competency as a Psychiatrist. Must have the level of experience and documented current clinical competency to be awarded “Regular” privileges to work independently.

  • Certifications in addition to Basic Life Support:Current BLS with AED.

  • Degree/Education: Position requires a Degree in Medicine, completion of Residency in Psychiatry; must be Board Eligible, or Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

  • Board Certification:Board Eligible or Board-Certified Psychiatrist who is recognized as an expert in the medical community.

  • Primary Source Verification/ Licensure:Valid unrestricted medical license in at least 1 state, territory or commonwealth of the U.S.

  • Citizenship:  U.S. citizenship. 

  • Credentialing:  

  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen.  

  • Current physical and immunizations.   

      

Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Previous experience working with the military population.  

      

Work Location, Hours, and Physical Requirements: 

  • Physical Requirements: You must be on the premises to perform the job. The environment is fast-paced and multifaceted, with conditions and duties that can change quickly throughout a shift.

  • Hours of Performance: Normal clinic workdays and hours are Monday- Friday, between 0700-1700; however, work weekdays/hours may vary due to mission schedule. May be assigned call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Scheduling: The work schedule will be determined by the government supervisor. Any changes to the schedule will be coordinated through the Chief of Behavior Health, Clinic Manager or designated representative and shall be mutually agreed on between the MTF and the contractor.

  • Place of Performance: HCWs shall receive a 2-week notification prior to the reassignment to another location with a 40-mile commuting radius of their assigned MTF.
