We arean amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking aphenomenal addition like you who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.We want you to apply now!Here is some of what you can expect from being a Lab Assistant with us:You will perform all technical procedures, and maintain knowledge of allprocedures and protocols pertinent to the departmentYou will maintain proficiency in performance of technical procedures,including venipuncture and capillary puncture on patients of all agesYou will collect and process specimens on patients of all ages as requiredYou will perform test requests and chart results on patients with manydifferent clinical conditions (from screening of healthy outpatients up toand including the major, complex intensive care patients) and all ageranges from newborns to geriatric patientsYou will assist in the clerical duties of the departmentYou will serve as a customer service representative for the lab on the phoneand in personYou will perform required function verification of equipmentYou will communicate with other hospitals, hospital departments,physicians, medial offices, reference laboratories, and patientsQualifications you will need for this role:Phlebotomy certification preferredHigh school diploma or betterHealthcare experience as a Phlebotomist, 1-2 years preferred and/orcompletion of formal phlebotomy class preferredMust have effective verbal and written communication skills in order tocommunicate in a clear and concise manner with coworkers, physicians,nursing staff and patientsMust demonstrate above average manual dexterityMust have the ability to type proficiently (at least 30 words per minute)on the computerSwedish Medical Center, part of HCA's HealthONE, is located in the southmetro Denver area where it has been a proud member of the community for morethan 110 years.
