Vail Health Sports Dietitian in Edwards, Colorado
The Sports Dietician is responsible for developing nutritional programs for the organization, providing nutritional assessments, education, and diet management to patients and clients of the organization. In collaboration with the Howard Head Sports Medicine (HHSM) interdisciplinary team, the Sports Dietician develops and implements group and individualized care plans designed to promote the patient’s understanding and management of their diet, optimize quality of life, and improve clinical outcomes.
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessment, education, and management to patients referred by physicians and multidiscipline care team.
Provide instruction to patients in the use of modified diets as it relates to health promotion and chronic conditions.
Coordinate, implement, and evaluate nutritional education using national standards and guidelines
Develop and deliver educational programs and appropriate teaching tools for various ethnic and cultural groups to support understanding of nutrition.
Provide outpatient and community-based education and counseling to patients and families, in individual or group settings, in accordance with established educational plans.
Prepare nutrition related presentations and present them to various audiences.
Maintain timely and complete documentation and billing of all care management encounters.
Champion and model first-class customer service and build a repeat and referral customer base
Instructing, motivating, and assisting athletes and clients in a safe, legal, moral, ethical manner to achieve their goals.

Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
3 years of experience within a sports performance or health and wellness environment required.
Current Valid Driver's license and ability to pass Vail Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report required
Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association required.
Registered Dietitian with the Registration with Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition required.
