Zoetis Veterinary Clinical Pathologist in Denver, Colorado

ROLE DECRIPTION:Location : San Francisco, CAZoetis Reference Labs (ZRL) is currently seeking full-time ClinicalPathologists for multiple US locations. Zoetis Reference Labs is a newdivision of Zoetis Global Diagnostics and currently includes legacy PhoenixLab, ZN Labs and Ethos Diagnostic Science laboratories.Responsibilities of this role will include diagnostic interpretation ofcytology, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, and endocrine testing aswell as consultation with veterinarian clients. Opportunities to participatein CE offerings/wet labs for local veterinarians and technicians will alsobe available.The Denver position is located within an animal hospital that hosts afull-service diagnostic laboratory, offering onsite hematology, clinicalchemistry, urinalysis and endocrinology testing. The San Francisco positionis located within a similar sized laboratory, offering all routine clinicalpathology testing onsite. This lab will be located within a hospital that hasan engaged, collaborative environment and offers wellness and urgent careservices, and behavior medicine.The successful candidates will have a positive attitude and is a teamplayer, has a passion for supporting the veterinary community and theability to actively engage in consultations and some host-hospital events.Candidates will join a collaborative team of pathologists that strive forexcellence and are dedicated to their profession. Opportunities abound forspecial projects and professional growth in this rapidly growing organization.This is a values-driven organization where service is priority.RESPONSIBILITES:Cytological examination and comprehensive reporting of both digitized andglass slide cytology samples.Examination of select CBC and urine sediment samples with comprehensivereporting including any supplied pertinent history and additional availablelaboratory data.Protein electrophoresis interpretation and reporting.Consultation with submitting veterinarians regarding current, prior orfuture cases and general clinical pathology questions that could includeCBC/chemistry/UA, endocrine, serology, and protein electrophoresis results.Participate in the local quality control program, new test suggestions andnew test validation in the core labAssist in training laboratory staff and involvement in development of policiesand processes in conjunction with the clinical pathology team.Participate in continuing education events and general outreach to veterinaryclients, in the lab, host hospital or outside venue, as required.QUALIFICATIONS:DVM (or equivalent)Successful completion of formal residency training program in clinicalpathologyACVP board certification in Clinical Pathology (board eligible status willbe considered)KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCEStrong diagnostic pathology skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills with strong analytic andproblem-solving abilitiesHighest level interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work as a collaborative team member is essentialSelf-starter with good organizational and time management skills and abilityto structure workflow for maximum efficiency.Flexibility to changing methods and technologies1-2 years minimum experience in a diagnostic laboratory preferred, but notrequiredFull timeRegularColleagueZoetis is committed to equal opportunity in the terms and conditions ofemployment for all employees and job applicants without regard to race,color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, gender identity orgender expression, national origin, disability or veteran status or anyother protected classification.
