This posting is exclusively for those whohave interned with Mortenson previously.Responsibilities:Assist project management team in developing and executing site specificsafety program and activitiesAttend, coordinate, and conduct safety orientation and training programsat the project levelDocument and track all safety violations, unsafe conditions, etc.Conduct work area safety auditsConduct project s leading and trailing indicator data/document collectionand trend analysesConduct or assist with major incident analysisRecord, monitor, and analyze Safety, Injury and Hazard statisticsCoordinate OSHA reporting and posting requirementsReview Safety Submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetingswith subcontractorsMonitor and review trade partner work plans and activities for safety concernsAssist with onsite injury management and case managementMonitor Return to Work and Modified duty assignmentsAssist with the organization and implementation of project safety celebrationsand recognition/reward programsParticipate in and contribute to project planning and hazard analysisProvide resource of safety related informationEvaluate and offer solutions for industrial hygiene concernsMaintain operational knowledge of construction safety, OSHA, ANSI, andother applicable standards, regulations, laws, and proceduresServe as resource for safety issues or concerns for all project team membersAttend and/or chair safety meetings Other duties as assignedCollaborate with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurancerisk engineers etc.Accompany safety, health, insurance and OSHA personnel on work-site toursEnsure maintenance and inspection of safety equipment and protective wearMaintain project site Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and assist theProject Manager with the management of the safety budget allocated for projectProject Assignment:New hires may be placed in one of the following groups:Chicago OfficeCivil Operating GroupDenver OfficeFederal Contracting GroupHigh Voltage Transmission GroupMilwaukee OfficeMinneapolis OfficePhoenix OfficePortland OfficeSeattle OfficeSolar and Emerging Renewables GroupSports and Entertainment GroupWind Energy GroupAdditional Information:Safety Engineers will spend most their time in the field and may travel oftenbetween multiple sites.
