Job Summary Under general supervision, utilizes the nursing process to provide care to all patients with respect for their uniqueness using informed judgment, individual competence and qualifications, and collaboration with the health care team. Assesses patients’ physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. Documents patients medical status upon admission and throughout the patients course of treatment. $2/hr differential, + shift differentials.

Minimum Qualifications Education: Completion of a nursing education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Registered Nurses. BSN preferred.

Experience: Typically, one year experience in a patient care setting. New graduates will be considered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of techniques, methods, and competencies of clinical nursing practices. Knowledge of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment. Knowledge of standards, policies and procedures of Denver Health as they pertain to nursing. Skill to properly use medical instruments and laboratory equipment. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. Ability to apply nursing principles, practices and techniques. Ability to assess patients needs and coordinate proper nursing care. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations. Ability to apply nursing principles, practices and techniques. Ability to exercise initiative and judgment in selecting proper treatment. Ability to use computers and computer systems. Bilingual skills preferred.

Certificate/License/Registration: Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certifications/CPR. Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Colorado or a participating compact state. *Specialty certifications as required/recommended per unit. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
