Overview of Position:Assesses behavioral health patients and offers diagnostic and therapeutic support in conjunction with staff psychiatrist and psychiatric assessment. Provides advanced practice professional nursing care for behavioral health patients, following established standards and practices. Acts in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary care team to coordinate and promote quality and continuity of care, from time of admission through transition of care at time of discharge. Serves as primary liaison, resource, clinical expert and educator for patients, family, physician and interdisciplinary providers.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:Education Requirements:BSN from accredited school of nursingMaster’s Degree in Nursing or applied area of knowledgeAdvanced Practice Registered; Prescriptive Authority preferredWork Experience:Minimum of one year direct behavioral clinical experience in a healthcare facility or setting. Competence with DSM-IV diagnostic criteria and treatment planning. Inpatient, crisis, and emergency room experience preferred.License/Certifications:Current Colorado Nursing LicenseClinical Nurse Specialist certification in Psychiatric and Mental Health NursingCurrent BLSPhysicial Requirements:Medium Work - (Exert up to50lbs force occasionally, and/or upto 20lbs frequently, and/or up to10lbs constantly)
