We are seeking a Medical Assistant II for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. As a Medical Assistant II on the Transplant Admin Department you will be joining a team of professionals who are dedicated to deliver excellent care to our patients. You will enable patients to reach their goals through care specifically designed to cater to individual patient needs, and also administered by some of the most highly skilled and trained providers in the Rocky Mountain region.

What you can expect from being a Medical Assistant with us: * Assist with transplant clinic performing vital signs, obtaining weights of patients in clinic. Review current medication list with patients. * Assist with pre and post kidney transplant, coordination of admissions, and schedule renal biopsies and radiology and admissions. * Communicate changes in patients’ medical status to nurse coordinators, clinic nurses and physician as appropriate * Scheduling of clinic patients for follow-up appointments. * Notify patients of upcoming appointments and provide instructions. * Retrieve and record laboratory test results in patient record. Retrieve results of diagnostic studies performed at P/SL and other facilities * Assisting nursing staff with post-transplant phone calls, prescription refills and prior authorization forms from insurance carriers for prescription coverage. Requirements: * BLS certified. Medical Assistant Certification preferred. * Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program preferred. * One year experience in hospital or outpatient setting * Transplant experience preferred
