LPN Licensed Practical Nurse (Job ID: 3119)Job Summary:Under close supervision of an RN or Charge Nurse, provides direct patientcare in accordance with established plans. Assists RNs and Care Providers withprocedures, medication administration, phlebotomy, and limitedlaboratory procedures.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of appropriate charting procedures. Interpersonal communicationskills to communicate with hospital staff and diverse patient population.Clerical skills. Ability to assist patient with personal hygiene. Ability totransport patients, specimens and supplies to and from various areas asnecessary. Knowledge of IV introduction. Ability to monitor IVs on assignedpatients once IV certification is received.Education:High school diploma or GED required.Completion of a nursing education programthat satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board ofNursing for Licensed Practical Nurse required.Experience:Typically, one year directly related experience.Credentials:Active Licensed Practical Nurse License in the state of Colorado or qualifyingcompact state required.Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR fromAmerican Heart Association or Red Cross required.Location: Denver Sheriffs City and County jailsShift: Day and night shifts. 12 hour shifts/ 6-630.
