Establishes a therapeutic relationship with, and provides age appropriate care to assigned patients. Facilitates the maintenance of the therapeutic environment in the inpatient psychiatric unit. Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to professional clinical staff.

What You Bring/Job Requirements

In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related human services field

  • One-year previous experience working with psychiatric and / or substance abuse patients OR 100 hours of supervised clinical experience in an accredited post-bachelors program leading to a Master’s in Clinical Psychology, Counseling or Social Work.

  • Knowledge of therapeutic milieu, basic psychological theories, and group, family and individual therapy

  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage conflict.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association upon hire or required within 90 days of hire

  • Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training preferred

Physical Requirements - Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
