Job Summary

The Department of Family Medicine at Denver Health is recruiting for a full-time Academic & Full Scope Family Medicine Physician for our Lowry Family Health Center. Family Medicine at Denver Health is part of a fully integrated network of 9 community health centers, 17 school-based clinics, and a Level I 525-licensed bed hospital with a mission of providing access to quality preventive, acute, and chronic health care for all citizens of Denver, regardless of ability to pay. Denver Health is affiliated with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, and serves as a training site Family Medicine residents.

The successful applicant will be joining department of 40+ primary care physicians, 30+ advanced care providers. All of our practices are PCMH recognized and have a robust model of team based care. This clinician will be part of the academic family medicine physician staff at Denver Health responsible for resident teaching activities. As a full scope faculty, the clinician practice will include an outpatient continuity practice; inpatient care in medicine, obstetrics and newborn care; teaching resources and protected time for residency academic track. Physicians interested in practicing and teaching primary care in a dynamic, state-of-the-art health care delivery system are encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will be able to pursue Assistant or Associate level professorship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. 5 years’ experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications Education 1. Graduation from an Accredited Medical School and completed Accredited Residency Programs and fellowships for specialist, equivalent. 2. Equivalent training for those Physicians who are not U.S. residency trained 3. The MSEC can grant privileges on a one-on-one review. Experience Experience requirements vary depending on specialty and position. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques. 2. Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment. 3. Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff support activities while providing quality medical care. 4. Able to receive detailed information through oral communications; express or exchange ideas by verbal communications. 5. Excellent written and verbal communications, listening, and social skills. 6. Able to interact effectively with people of varied educational, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds, skill levels and value systems. 7. Performs in a tactful and professional manner. 8. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 9. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Computers and Technology 1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2. EPIC Certificates, Licenses and Registration 1. Medical license to practice in State of Colorado. 2. Physician Board certification in professional medical discipline. 3. Appropriate certifications designated by department i.e. BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, Etc.
