  1. Summary: Under the general direction of the Conduent Director of Clinical Services, the purposes of this position are to: 1) manage and deliver documents and deliverables to Clients related to the pharmacy program as well as other clinical programs including emphasis on retrospective drug utilization review (RDUR); 2) perform quality analysis on all clinical programs; 3) assist in the development of new clinical initiatives and requirements based on such things, but not limited to, cost savings, new drugs and innovative technology; 4) serve as the clinical resource to Clients.

  2. Job Responsibilities:

  • Is a primary clinical resource to clients. Proactively brings new drug criteria and analysis to the department with recommendations on coverage, clinical criteria, pharmacoeconomics, and pharmacy practice guidelines, including recommendations for current and new retrospective drug utilization reviews.

  • Conduct research as needed in order to implement new RDUR interventions, create ad hoc reports, and answer Client, provider, and staff inquiries.

  • Assist in the design of new edits, functionality and reports in electronic tools such as electronic health records, prior authorization tools, RDUR, and a medication therapy management tool.

  • Develop and design prospective and retrospective interventions that improve or maintain the quality of care while reducing the overall cost of care when possible.

  • Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of RDUR interventions.

  • Collaborates with other Conduent clinicians in work groups, including RDUR and clinical publications.

  1. Qualifications:
  • Education: A Pharm. D. degree in pharmacy is required.

  • Completion of a residency or fellowship, and/or board certification is preferred.

  • Licensure: Must be licensed and in good standing with the state Board of Pharmacy

  • Experience: Intensive use of word processing, spreadsheets and database manager software is important. Extensive skill in communicating, both verbally and in writing, with health care providers is beneficial.

  • Job Knowledge: Has thorough knowledge of all phases of work. Can review, analyze, and apply literature to specific therapeutic situations. Knows and can discuss the pathophysiology of the major disease states likely to be seen in specific client’s plans. Assumes responsibility for meeting own professional development needs.

  • Completion of Job Responsibilities: Work/skill level is high quality. Functions autonomously, rarely needing assistance with routine assignments. Is a fully participating team member. Manages time effectively.
