Performs laboratory testing of patient specimens in one or more sections of the laboratory and in anatomic pathology under the direction of the certified Pathologists’ Assistant and Pathologist.
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in the pertinent lab specialty-subspecialty.
Required Licensure/Certification: None Required.
Minimum Experience: None Required.
Performs lab testing on patient specimens in a lab specialty/subspecialty.
Performs diagnostic/analytic testing of specimens, interprets, documents and reports test results.
Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity and references ranges for test methods.
Serves as a consultant to lab staff and other clinical staff as needed.
Accessions surgical pathology specimens and obtains pertinent clinical information and history.
Grosses simple non-complicated surgical pathology specimens, performs frozen sections, and stains frozen section slides.
Maintains surgical pathology room and equipment.
Utilize telepathology system to assist Pathologist in remote reading of frozen sections.
