GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES - Provide leadership for the business office team. Computer, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to function in a fast-paced work environment, multitask, and appropriately prioritize work. Must demonstrate an ability to contribute to a positive work environment as well as project a courteous and professional demeanor towards the interdisciplinary team.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the responsibilities associated with each role in the business office. • Understand and follow the policies and procedures created for the business office positions compliant with HIPAA and HCA guidelines. • Direct workflow appropriately to ensure that the responsibilities of the Business Office Specialists are completed in a timely manner. • Ensure availability to meet the needs of the interdisciplinary team. • Demonstrate a strong ability to act as a liaison between Business Office Specialists and the interdisciplinary team. • Function as the primary on-site contact person for business office related issues. • Ensure that all paperwork is submitted to the Central Business Office (CBO) in a timely and HIPAA compliant manner. • Ensure that all payments received at the facility are submitted to the CBO in a secure, timely, and HIPAA compliant manner. • Ensure incoming calls are answered promptly and routed appropriately. • Maintain the electronic group shared folder and serve as the point person to answer questions for team members. • Consistently demonstrate a competent, courteous, and professional demeanor and lead the team by example. • Other duties as assigned.
• Must meet basic reading, writing, and comprehension requirement.
• One to three years experience working in a physician's office, clinic or hospital setting strongly preferred. A firm understanding of insurance contracts as well as pre-certification and benefit verification requirements strongly preferred.
