Behavioral Health Technician - Adolescent Psych (Job ID: 3765)Job SummaryUnder close supervision, responsible for providing a safe, supportive andtherapeutic environment for psychiatric patients. Provides direct patient careand may conduct therapeutic group sessions under the direction and supervisionof the RN. Provides input to the RN to help develop the plan of care andassists in carrying out the plan of care for assigned patients. Assists withthe admission of new patients and orients new patients and families to theunitThis is a Day/Evening position. Shifts can range from (7am-7pm,7am-3pm, and 3pm-11pm). Self Scheduling positions based on available shifts.This role is eligible for shift differential when the majority of the hoursworked fall in a night, weekend or evening shift.This role is eligible for the followings benefits:Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityPaid Time Off401(a) Retirement Plan with Employer ContributionsAdoption Assistant ProgramTuition ReimbursementRTD ECO PassResponsibilities*Assists with admissions, discharges, transfers and appropriate documentation.*Performs transportation responsibilities when requested; transportingpatients from one area to another; delivering laboratory specimens, bloodproducts, medicationsand other hospital/medical items to the requesteddepartments as needed; and includes access to the pneumatic tube system totransport items, including blood products and medications, toand from thetube and the desired location.*Obtains vital signs on assigned adolescent adult, and geriatric patients.*Differentiates normal from abnormal findings and reports abnormal values orconditions to the RN.(EX. abnormal vital signs, safety concerns, familyissues.) .*Provides care to patients in seclusion/restraint according to 27-10regulations and department policy and procedure.*Collects laboratory specimens on assigned patients as directed by RN staff.*Is aware of legal aspects of care as defined by C.S. 27-10 includingpatients' rights.*Promotes positive interpersonal (customer) relationships with fellowemployees, physicians, patients and visitors.Treats these individuals withcourtesy, dignity, empathy and respect; consistently displays courteousand respectful verbal and non-verbal communications.*Adheres to, complies with and demonstrates support for the mission andvalues of Denver Health.*Supports and adheres to the Denver Health Values of Trust, Respect, andExcellence.*Ensures confidentiality of patient information by creating and maintaining asecure and trusting environment by not sharing information learned on thejob, except when necessary in the performance of the job responsibilities orto improve a patient's care.*Adheres to Denver Health and departmental attendance guidelines.*Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities*Demonstrates sensitivity in dealing with the psychiatric patient populationwhich requires very specific communication skills as directed by the plan ofcare and ability to deal with milieu management.*Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within aparticular field.*Skill in assisting patients with daily activities. Human relations andeffective communication skills.*Ability to demonstrate and maintain clinic competency.*Ability to observe and document the patient's behavior.*Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform thefunctions of the job.Education 1. High school diploma or GED, required. 2. Bachelor's degree,preferred.Experience 1. Two years of experience as a Behavioral Health Tech or similarrelated area, preferred. 2.
