Kaiser Permanente Ambulatory Surgery Center Senior Manager Operating Room in Denver, Colorado
Hires, manages, reviews schedules, evaluates and disciplines staff in the O.R. and SPD. Manages Surgical Housekeepers and Anesthesia Technician. Ensures compliance with internal policies and recommendations from external organizations: i.e. Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (AORN). Participates in the planning and implementing of continuous quality improvement. Communicates and collaborates with LIPs, patients, family and members of the healthcare team to ensure effective and efficient patient care. Monitors patient outcomes and promptly reports unusual occurrences. Maintains current clinical knowledge, including risk management issues and specialty equipment.
Directs and manages administration of ambulatory surgery center.
Oversees staff and coordinates patient care.
Sets department goals and policies and enforces same.
Prepares and manages budget.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in an operating room.
Bachelor's degree required.
License, Certification, Registration
Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.
Demonstrated ability to forecast & manage budgets.
Demonstrated ability to write & set departmental policies, procedures & standards.
Knowledge of regulatory agency requirements for ambulatory surgery, infection control, OSHA, AORN standards & AAMI standards.
Working knowledge of computer systems.
Effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required in working with a wide range of departments and personnel at multiple levels of the organization and patients.
Minimum one (1) year of management experience.
Master's degree in nursing preferred.
Certified Registered Nursing Operating Room preferred.
