Support is needed atvarious schools and grade levels. Qualified candidates will be contacted by adistrict recruiter to schedule a time for an interview. Position willdirectly support one school and recruiters will speak to you regardingregional and grade level preferences. This is a great opportunity for anyonewho is interested in starting a career in education or health care.Essential Functions and Objectives:The Health Technician Paraprofessional provides support for the COVIDcoordinator and school Registered Nurse, may serve as the back up COVIDCoordinator in the school building, assists with students that areexperiencing signs of illness, supervising the isolation room forindividuals that need to go home due to COVID related symptoms or otherrelated illnesses, provides support for students in the health office asdelegated to by the school nurse and school COVID coordinator. The healthtechnician will administer medications, health treatments, and support asdelegated to by the school registered nurse, and will assist with COVIDneeded support as delegated. The health technician paraprofessional willassist with needed health screenings such as vision and hearing and mayprovide support as needed with COVID screening. The health TechnicianParaprofessional will also assist with documentation of ImmunizationCompliance, The health technician paraprofessional will work under thesupervision of, and as authorized by the school's Registered Nurse.DPS will ensure the health and safety of our students, families, and staffby observing to the following health protocols:- Masks/face shields: All adults and students are required to wear masksor face shields when on school grounds, with the exception of time foreating or other designated "mask break" that would take place outside.Masks will also be required for students riding the bus to/from school.- Handwashing: Students and staff will wash hands or use hand sanitizerevery few hours throughout the day.- Gloves: Teachers and other staff will not be asked to wear gloves.Cleaning, kitchen and other special staff like Health Care Providers orOccupational Therapists will be asked to wear gloves based on healthguidelines- Symptom screening: There will be a process to screen allparents/guardians, staff, and students for COVID-19 symptoms before theycome into school each day. Based on temperature checks, students/staffwith a temperature of 100.0 or above will not be permitted to stay at school.We ask all students, family members, and staff to stay home if they arefeeling ill (including symptoms like fever, cough, shortness ofbreath, sore throat, abdominal pain, fatigue, muscle aches, or headache).- Health hygiene education: Staff will reinforce safe and healthy hygieneprotocols (e.g. covering coughs and sneezes with tissues or elbows).Education Requirements:Copy of high school diploma or GED.About Denver Public Schools:Denver Public Schools is committed to meeting the educational needs of everystudent with great schools in every neighborhood.
