Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensiveprovider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for a full-time MedicalAssistant in Colorado Springs.The successful candidate will: Escort patient to and from exam room, physician office, and treatment roomRecord patient data prior to each physician visitObtain all necessary patient records as required by the physician and verifypresence of consent prior to treatment or proceduresPrepare and stock exam/treatment roomsAssist physician with exams and procedures as requestedObtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as neededAdminister subcutaneous and intramuscular injectionsProcess instruments and equipment as neededPhone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as directed by physicianObtain new patient records and previous test results, x-rays, scans, etcMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school graduate or equivalent. Certificate of graduation from anaccredited program for MedicalAssistants required. Minimum two years experience as a medical assistant ornursing assistant.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonableaccommodations may be made toenable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Requires full range of body motionincluding handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, andeye-hand coordination. Requiresstanding and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts andcarries items weighing up to 40lbs.
