Optum Cardiovascular Technologists in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Aid provider in diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders by conducting invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems; maintaining equipment; recording test results.
Responsible for performing all procedures offered by the Echo Cardiology Lab, to include, stress and rest echo, and all vascular procedures.
Perform all QA/QC procedures on equipment as directed.
Obtain correct/current clinical history on patients. Check orders and patient identity prior to exam.
Transport all patients to and from department safely. Prep patients for exam according to department protocol.
Process all films and ensure current and correct demographic data is on films. Check technical quality of exam prior to dismissing patient and evaluate necessary criteria for acceptable exam.
Clean equipment, maintain supplies and exam room(s) on a regular basis. Report all needs and repairs to supervisor in a timely fashion.
Communicate with patients, their families, co-workers, providers and supervisors in a professional manner. Explain procedures in a compassionate and sensitive manner.
Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings conferences etc.
Maintain department reports and records and collect statistics for administration and/or regulatory purposes.
Maintain any records within the department for regulatory standards as directed by lead or manager. Perform general office duties of the department when necessary to include, but not limited to answering telephones, scheduling, greeting patients, and disseminating reports.
Perform all other job duties as directed by the supervisor or manager.
You will be provisioned with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are required to perform this role with patients and members on site, as this is an essential function of this role.
Employees are required to screen for symptoms using a UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener prior to entering the work site each day, in order to keep our work sites safe. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained.
Minimum: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program or Diagnostic Ultrasound Program.
Must be CPR certified. Must be ARDMS or CCI registered as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS). Current ACLS certification.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience in cardiovascular technology.

Must be competent in and able to perform all vascular procedures.
Adapt to a fast-paced environment and multi-task under pressure.
Must be a problem solver, detail oriented, reliable, and a self-starter.
Must be capable of working without direct supervision within the guidelines set by the department as well as part of a dynamic team.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
Computer experience required. Ability to learn and use company’s scheduling and other software.

For Colorado Residents Only: The hourly range for Colorado residents is $25.00 to 35.00/hour.
