You You bring your body, mind, heart and spirit to your work as a Unit Secretary You know how to move fast You know how to stay organized You know how to have fun You re great at what you do, but you want to be part of something evengreater Because you believe that while individuals can be strong, the right team isinvincible Us Our emergency medicine doctors, specialty-trained nurses and techniciansprovide the highest quality of care, providing assessment,resuscitation, surgery, intensive care, stabilization of injuredpatients and emergency operations We are proud to offer a high level of care as a Certified Chest PainCenter, a Primary Stroke Center, and a Level III Trauma Center Our ED is equipped with: 16 private rooms for the safety and privacy of ourpatients A dedicated trauma bay An orthopedic procedure room Four negativeair-flow rooms for necessary respiratory and airborne isolation In addition,our Platte Valley ED team is trained to identify and treat less seriousconditions quickly If our patients need a higher level of care than is available with us, werely on our resources and partnerships to get our patients quickly to theright experts within the hospital, at another SCL Health facility, oranywhere that provides appropriate care We maintain a 24-hour helipad for emergent evacuation and inter-facilitytransport of patients Platte Valley Medical Center is a partner of SCL Health which is a nonprofithealthcare organization that focuses on person-centered care Our 98-bed community hospital is proud to offer comprehensive, integratedcare focused on holistic health We are proud to extend the mission of SCL Health by providing care for thepoor, the vulnerable, our communities and each other Benefits are one of the ways we encourage health for you and your family Our generous package includes medical, dental and vision coverage But health is more than a well-working body: it encompasses body, mindand social well-being To that end, we ve launched a Healthy Living program to address yourholistic health Healthy Living includes financial incentives, digital tools, tobaccocessation, classes, counseling and paid time off We also offer financial wellness tools and retirement planning We Together we ll align mission and careers, values and workplace We ll encourage joy and take pride in our integrity We ll laugh at each other s jokes (even the bad ones) We ll hello and high five We ll celebrate milestones and acknowledge the value of spirituality inhealing We re proud of what we know, which includes how much there is to learn Your day As a Unit Secretary you need to know how to: Greetpatients/residents/families/community and direct questions, concernsto appropriate person or destination and/or provide assistance Answer telephone and/or patient call lights promptly and follow throughwith patient requests Provide clerical support to unit including making copies, schedulingappointments, distributing mail, and maintaining supplies Input equipment requests and patient charges Collect unit data and maintain unit statistics and maintain daily patient logsheet Assemble patient charts and maintain charts with appropriate forms, enterphysician orders, files reports, assure all forms are in correct order,analyze medical record for completeness, and implement downtime forms asapprop Transcribe physician's orders, copy records, relay messages, andprepare, compile, and maintain various records at the nursing station Admit patients, administer and maintain patient records, break downmedical charts for record keeping and coordinate billing At discharge, prepare discharge forms as indicated and also prepare currentand old medical records for Health Information Department Assist in stocking supplies in rooms and rounding on patients, as needed Your experience We hire people, not resumes But we also expect excellence, which is why we require: High Schooldiploma or equivalent, required Current BLS certification endorsed by theAmerican Heart Association
