Twitter Sr. Data Science Manager - Cortex Data Science in Boulder, Colorado
As the Sr. Manager for the Cortex Data Science team, you will work closely with our partners in Cortex (Twitter’s core machine learning group) and in the broader Product, Engineering, Design, and Research organizations. Cortex is a community of Machine Learning Researchers and Engineers, working to help Twitter leverage and advance ML through practical / product-driven problem spaces in a range of systems such as recommendations, safety, abuse, content understanding (NLP), ads, and more.
Data Scientists at Twitter work backwards from a deep understanding of business problems and objectives to drive business impact through the application of data science. As a Data Scientist in Cortex you will be expected to develop a deep understanding of the product problem space. You will work closely with our partners to identify areas where Machine Learning can have the greatest impact. You will validate hypotheses, establish robust problem definitions and set clear North-Star metrics of success. You will collaborate with Cortex to improve model development and help steer efforts towards the right solutions - you will develop and maintain benchmark datasets and any necessary data pipelines, identify new and impactful model features, critically review offline and online model performance, and help build MVPs.
