About the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center

The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center resides within the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (AHWC) is an interdisciplinary center whose overarching goals are to have an impact on the campus while building towards sustainability. Either of these alone is insufficient. We strive to achieve both. Top researchers work side-by-side with clinicians to develop and deliver wellness and weight loss programs and work with patients, providers, students and trainees, employees, researchers to take these programs beyond the walls of the center into communities. The mission of the center is "to collaborate with campus partners to develop and deliver programs and services targeting physical activity, nutrition, and mental wellbeing that enhance the lives of people who come here."

The vision of the center is "a campus where wellness is a foundation of everything we do." All endeavors at the center are focused on this vision. An integrated approach with a shared philosophy is core to the development of the center's programs. These programs strive to involve every area of the business, including wellness clinic services, the fitness center, and the metabolic and demonstration kitchens. Without this integration, it is not possible to achieve the vision that catalyzed the development of the center. The center serves as a "learning lab" for creating a model of standard care for wellness centers that can be replicated and exported.

Job Summary

Temporaries perform seasonal, temporary work for short periods of time (e.g., summer months, special events, or projects) and are exempt from the state classified system based on 100% funding from gifts, grants or auxiliaries. Positions have limited duration work assignments in accordance with university or campus policies and are not part of the regular staffing pattern for the organization. Appointments are limited to 9 months of continuous employment with a 4 month break OR 9 months of employment in any 12 month period. This position works directly with three Study Principal Investigators, at the Anschutz Health and Wellness Center. This position is primarily responsible for data entry and data management of research data according to protocol, University of Colorado, and COMIRB standards and regulations.

Nature of Work

  • Duties include, but are not limited to: performing electronic data entry and data verification, , assisting with scheduling of study research appointments; assisting with performing screening and outcome measures, and assisting with sample collection and processing (urine and saliva) in weight loss and exercise interventional studies.

Examples of Work Performed

Specific duties and responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Electronic entry of study data

  • Manage and organize/ file confidential information of study participants

  • Assist study staff with scheduling study related visits and screening/outcomes assessments

  • Assist study staff with conducting study related visits and screening/outcomes assessments

Hourly flexibility is required as some study visits occur in in the early mornings or the evenings.

Salary and Benefits

The hiring range for $13 - $15 and negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience. The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience with computer software including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in COMIRB standards and regulations

  • At least 1 year of coursework towards bachelor’s degree

  • Previous data entry experience for research studies

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills

  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion

  • Work well under pressure and possesses excellent attention to detail

  • Compassion and patience in interacting with adults regarding sensitive subject matter such as weight management and obesity

  • Self-motivated, a proactive learner and able to collaborate with a variety of individuals on our research team

  • Completion of University of Colorado research compliance courses (HIPAA training)
