The Adult and Child Consortium for Health Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) has an opening for a half-time (50% FTE) Senior PRA who has experience with program management and qualitative research methods. ACCORDS has a portfolio of research studies focused on health services research or implementation science that engage diverse patient populations, healthcare providers, and community stakeholders. This position will work on practice- and community-based research projects under the supervision of Brooke Dorsey Holliman, PhD. This position will provide research support by assisting with qualitative data collection, coding, tool development, regulatory needs, and perhaps analysis and reporting. In addition, this position will provide extensive program and project management support, overall daily management of assigned research studies, drafting IRB submissions and study protocols, and significantly contributing to study publications. The position may also involve assisting with general project needs, such as staffing, budget management, and other duties as determined by Dr. Brooke Dorsey Holliman. The ideal candidate will have experience and training in qualitative research data collection and coding, program management, managing teams, and experience with developing and submitting institutional review board protocols for pragmatic trials or health services research studies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

General tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Development of research methods and instrument creation

  • Data collection activities with variety of individuals (patients [pediatric and adult], caregivers/family members, providers/staff, and community members) including:

  • Recruiting, consenting and paying study participants

  • Engaging with stakeholder groups

  • Conducting and leading in-depth interviews

  • Conducting practice observations and process mapping

  • Co-moderating or moderating focus groups

  • Project management activities from initiation to project close

  • Data management, including hiring of transcription services

  • Developing institutional review board applications, amendments, and continuing review documents for study projects

  • Leading data analysis tasks, including coding, codebook development, reporting and summarizing, and running of queries in ATLAS.ti© software

  • Leading and significantly contributing to study publications (posters, abstracts, and manuscripts)

  • Various activities related to grant compliance and oversight such as preparing funder progress reports and assisting with budget tracking

  • Assisting with staffing needs (such as working with student workers) in coordination with project investigators

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $58,500 - $65,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Sr. PRA Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in health-related field or a related discipline or Bachelor's degree in health-related field and at least 5 years professional work experience

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Skills and Competencies required:

  • Comfortable working with patients, caregivers/family members, clinicians, and community stakeholders

  • Experience managing large-scale research and evaluation projects

  • Experience with recruitment and enrollment of research participants

  • Experience with qualitative research interview guide development and data collection, including conducting interviews

  • Experience with qualitative data management software, such as ATLAS.ti

  • Experience in supporting and conducting qualitative data analysis including coding

  • Highly organized and attentive to detail with excellent oral and competent written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite

  • Team-oriented and able to work well in multidisciplinary teams, as well as self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently according to the needs and demands of concurrent projects

  • Ability to represent the University and ACCORDS in a professional and positive manner

Sr. PRA Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in health-related field and 2 years professional work experience or Bachelor's degree in health-related field and at least 5 years professional work experience, plus at least 3 years of experience in qualitative research

  • Proficiency with qualitative data management software, such as ATLAS.ti©

  • Experience with moderating or co-moderating focus groups

  • Experience with developing qualitative data collection instruments and coding and summarizing of qualitative data

  • Experience as a project manager

  • Previous employment in an academic or academic/hospital setting

  • Experience submitting or amending protocols and creating continuing reviews or study closures for an institutional review board (IRB)

  • Experience with reference management software

  • Experience in public health or health services research
