The Department of Neurosurgery at University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Neurosurgeon. The position will be at the senior instructor level and focus on growing the department's Pediatric neurosurgical program at the Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs and the Briargate outpatient facility. Clinical interests should include general pediatric neurosurgery, with a broad interest in hydrocephalus, congenital malformations and pediatric trauma. We require a neurosurgeon who is a committed clinician, dedicated to building a strong program through local collaboration and regional communication. The designated neurosurgeon will be deeply imbedded within the Anschutz-based faculty practice, who will provide such practice support as is needed. He or she will foster and maintain a close connection with the Anschutz-based faculty, with participation (by remote access) in daily morning rounds, conferences, and grand rounds.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The faculty member will maintain full time clinical effort (1.0 cFTE), providing direct clinical care to children. He/she will conduct clinics at the Briargate facility to meet the clinical demand for neurosurgical care and in multidisciplinary programs. He/she will perform inpatient consultations and surgical procedures at the Children’s Hospital Colorado/Colorado Springs and Anschutz campuses, and provide alternate weeks of weekday call and one weekend of call out of four.

Minimum Qualifications:

MD, graduate of an American Board of Neurological Surgery certified residency program

Completed one year fellowship in pediatric Neurosurgery, and Board certified or board eligible
