The University of Colorado School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry has just welcomed their new Department Chair, C. Neill Epperson, MD and is in the process of growing the Department of Psychiatry with new programs and expanding existing programs.
The Clinical Psychologist for the Faculty and Staff Mental Health of Anschutz Medical Campus (AMC) will join the team with responsibilities for mental health care of the faculty and staff of the University of Colorado who work on our campus. Responsibilities include clinical care, leadership in program development, outreach and liaison with various divisions and departments, and some administrative functions. Faculty and Staff Mental Health (FSMH), located in Fitzsimons Building (formerly Building 500) on the AMC campus, is a clinical service recently started June 1st, 2020. We provide and coordinate mental health and wellness services to approximately 10,000 faculty and staff across schools, clinical care, and researchers on the AMC in Aurora, Colorado.
The FSMH team members include clinicians with different training backgrounds which provide different perspectives and expertise to the team. The team provides initial psychiatric evaluations, ongoing mental health care, and referrals, as necessary. FSMH supports the mission of our medical campus to help effectively address mental health issues that arise for faculty and staff employed by the University of Colorado. Since we are a new service, the psychologist will have input about the structure of the service and innovative programming to be developed. The clinical psychologist will also help engage with other stress and wellbeing programs on campus so that our service engages as seamlessly as possible with these other initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work in concert with other mental health providers to provide care to patients
Provide initial evaluations as well as ongoing treatment
Provide same-day, walk-in appointments, if needed
Chart patient visits using an electronic medical record.
Triage and refer patients as needed to appropriate level providers.
Provide psychological testing, if needed
Develop a clinical vision for the development of programs
Develop goals and objectives for the services and programs and all associated practice management duties.
Develop programmatic benchmarks and outcomes of effectiveness.
Participate in quality and performance assessment projects.
Develop and/or organize wellness talks, courses, and consultations process.
Participate in the development of and administration of group programs
Provide outreach to the different departments and divisions.
Participate in Mental Health First Aid or another peer counseling program

Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD)
Must be eligible for licensure or a licensed Psychologist in Colorado.
Ability to obtain and maintain credentialing through the University of Colorado Health system.
Training and experience in neuropsychological testing preferred.
Experience with integrated team-based care in a behavioral based setting that promotes an inclusive environment.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team model and with colleagues, medical specialists, and trainees.
Experience and skill in consulting with professional colleagues and staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be knowledgeable and experienced with many types of diagnoses and psychotherapeutic techniques.
Must have skills in risk assessment including suicide and violence risk assessment.
Must have experience differentiating short, middle, and long-term therapies with patients
Must develop knowledge about different stakeholders on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
Must be able to work cooperatively with all constituencies in the Department of Psychiatry including Departmental Chair, Program Directors, and coordination staff.
Should be comfortable with program development and with public speaking.
