Professional Research Assistant

The University of Colorado Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology seeks a professional research assistant for clinical research projects in gastroenterology to assist in coordinating investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical research studies related to liver disease and liver transplantation.
Examples of Work Performed:
Recruiting prospective study participants through the following mechanisms: in-person in the clinical/hospital setting or over the phone or via written invitations.
Administering investigation-related survey questionnaires to patients and providers in the clinical setting and via phone and mail.
Biologic specimen collection in the clinical setting with transportation to laboratory.
Reviewing protocol inclusion and exclusion criteria to determine if the prospective participants would be eligible.
Ensuring that informed consent occurs with the appropriate level of documentation.
Coordinating hospital staff and University of Colorado faculty to ensure relevant procedures are conducted and documented
Collecting clinical data and enter it into the designated database within a timely fashion of a patient enrollment into a study.
Maintaining necessary records per Federal and institutional policies, including IRB applications.
Bachelor’s degree in science or equivalent education and work experience
Prefer a minimum of two years’ experience with coordinating and managing administrative and clinical research activities.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail essential.
Demonstrated experience with creating and maintaining clinical research projects and clinical trials
Ability to multi-task
This position requires a high level of proficiency with computers and use of Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, and other University and Departmental systems as required.
Advanced computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and EPIC.
Knowledge and experience with IRB policies and procedures.
