Nature of Work
The Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, seeks a clinician-educator that is committed to a career as a clinician in an academic setting, practicing and teaching palliative medicine. Full-time and part-time positions will be considered.

Examples of Work Performed
Clinical duties include attending on the Palliative Care Consult Service and/or the Palliative Care Clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital. Teaching activities include leading formal/informal teaching sessions and working closely with students, residents, fellows and other trainees that rotate with palliative care at the University of Colorado Hospital. Academic responsibilities include active participation in palliative care quality improvement initiatives. Scholarly activities are encouraged.
The clinician-educator will have opportunity for academic promotion judged on criteria of demonstrated excellence as a clinician, educator and scholar.
Faculty Rank is dependent upon years of experience (0-7 years for Assistant Professor), fellowships completed and board certification.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at:
Instructor: $150,000-$195,000
Assistant Professor: $150,000-$220,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Minimum Qualifications
Instructor:
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board eligible in hospice and palliative medicine
Assistant Professor
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board eligible in hospice and palliative medicine
Preferred Qualifications
Instructor:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
Current State of Colorado Medical License and DEA by the employment start date.
0-7 years’ experience as an MD or DO
Assistant Professor:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
Current State of Colorado Medical License and DEA by the employment start date.
0-7 years’ experience as an MD or DO
Fellowship experience will be considered under years’ experience
