The University of Colorado, College of Nursing has an opening full-time 1.00 FTE Instructional (non-tenure) Faculty Member at the rank of Assistant Professor focused on teaching in Caring Science (30%) and research with the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (70%).
The University of Colorado, College of Nursing has an opening for a full-time 1.00 FTE Instructional (non-tenure) Faculty Member at the rank of Assistant Professor focused on teaching in Caring Science (30%) and research with the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center (70%). Responsibilities include participation in the teaching, research, and service mission of the College of Nursing and the University of Colorado. Within the College of Nursing, service and scholarship to the University and the College are an expectation of all faculty members.
This faculty position involves didactic and clinical teaching responsibilities. Didactic courses are taught in the classroom, online, or in blended formats. Supervision of clinical courses includes clinical conferences using online conferencing and close communication with clinical preceptors.
This faculty position reports directly to Dr. Paul Cook, Interim Division Chair of Behavioral, Family, and Population Health.
Responsibilities of the Position
Instruct and facilitate meaningful learning of the course outcomes in the curriculum and proactively support all facets of the learning environment.
Provide education through learning-centered instruction that will enable graduates to fulfill the evolving needs of the marketplace.
Encourage a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect, life-long learning, diversity and ethics as well as personal and professional development.
Participate in activities that promote the stature of the academic programs and the College of Nursing as well as abide by the mandates set by the University of Colorado, and the College of Nursing.
Participates in course, curricular and program revisions / development.

Doctorate degree (PhD) in Caring Science from an accredited institution of higher education.
Masters of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution of higher education.
Minimum of five years’ experience working within the Rocky Mountain Regional Veteran Administration
Qualified for rank of Instructional Assistant Professor (non-tenure)
Experience working on an academic medical campus.
Demonstration of academic leadership such as curricular/program development
Completion of a Post-Graduate Research Certificate
Completion of a Caritas Coach Certificate
Ability to develop collaboration with inter-professional colleagues
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to critically think and problem-solve to achieve program objectives.
Ability to build strong working relationships; strong interpersonal skills
