The Department of Neurology at at the University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking to recruit dynamic candidates to expand its clinical and basic science research programs within our several of our sub-specialties. The position is full-time faculty, with the opportunity for academic promotion, which is determined on criteria of demonstrated excellence in the areas of education, research, clinical care, and community service. Rank is determined based on knowledge and experience. The position is located at the University of Colorado - Anschutz Medical Campus at . Hours will be dependent on business need (i.e., patient volume, schedules, research study needs). We are the premier research university in Colorado, serving more than 30,000 undergraduate, graduate and health professions students in Denver, Aurora and online and awarding nearly 4,000 degrees each year. The Department of Neurology at has sub-specialties in the areas of Epilepsy, Movement Disorders, Behavioral Neurology, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Neuro-Virology, Palliative Care, Neuromuscular Medicine, Consultative Neurology, Headache, Neuro-Immunology/Multiple Sclerosis, Neurohospitalist/Vascular, Neuro-Oncology, and Sleep/Medicine

Job Responsibilities (not limited to) :

The duties in this faculty position will include teaching, research and service responsibilities. The overall determination of research and clinical activities and allocation of time and effort will be subject to the determination of the Section Head.

Clinical duties may include responsibilities at the faculty-level for in-patient / out-patient services as well as consultations, and emergency consultation of the Neurology Department. While on service, obligations will include supervision of medical students, residents, and some fellows, supervision of patient procedures, and teaching of the house-staff as well as students.

Teaching activities including attending neurology services, leading teaching conferences and training medical students, residents, and fellows.

Administrative responsibilities will include data entry into hospital systems, development of critical pathways, committee work and projects aimed at improving the specialty and department mission. It is assumed the bulk of this non-clinical time will be spent working toward the production of scholarship activities. Attendance at meetings and educational events of the department and specialty programs is expected. Other duties may be assigned as need arises.

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be Board Certified or eligible to be board certified before start date

  • A State of Colorado medical license and DEA license must be obtained on or before hire date

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Completed fellowship training in a Neurological specialty

  • A record of previous or current research funding is highly desirable

  • Additional board certifications eligibility
