Summary: Leads team members of an assigned area or function by demonstrating and providing advanced knowledge of job responsibilities. Provides emergency and non-emergency telephone and text assistance.
Poudre Valley Hospital Ft. Collins and Denver, CO
FT 1.0 FTE
This position will be cross trained in both UCHealth EMS and LifeLine communications centers and be responsible for dispatching both emergency and non-emergency ambulance transport request as well as emergency air medical helicopter request and critical care ground ambulances. Provides mentoring, monitoring, coaching, and assistance in solving complex or novel issues and problems. Serves as a positive role model for team members by working with them to promote teamwork, cooperation and exceptional customer service. Provides input on performance of staff. Provides emergency medical dispatch triage and instructions over the phone. Disseminates and coordinates communication plans as assigned by Division Chief/Managers. Champions initiatives or changes to ensure successful implementation. Coordinates services and ensures completion of all necessary paper work. Assists with the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures. Generates and evaluates reports which evaluate metrics to determine team effectiveness. Responds to calls for service from hospitals, medical facilities, the public, and other agencies via telephone, radio and computeraided dispatch (CAD) systems and coordinates patient transport and transfer. Evaluates system workflow, inter-agency interactions, and other areas which could benefit from process improvement.
Minimum Required Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. EMD Certification.
2 years of relevant experience
