Wewant your knowledge and expertise!The Electrophysiology (EP) Specialist assumes responsibility for theroutine care and maintenance of radiological equipment, in addition,assumes responsibility for quality patient care, maintenance of requiredcath lab and EP competencies and assistance in all aspects of invasive, ornon-invasive cardiac procedures.You will explain all procedures to patients to help alleviate anxiety.Your role will work within a team environment with individuals having similarabilities and responsibilities.You will be able to handle emergency situations during high-risk procedures.Your role interacts with physicians during routine procedures, duringemergencies and to assist with interpretation of and recording of datacollected.You will give primary and critical patient care and administers necessarymedications per doctor's orders, per physician's extender, whilepatient is in the lab.Your role recognizes EKG rhythms, including intra-cardiac rhythms.You will complete assigned supply ordering, evaluate stocking needs on adaily basis, checks expiration dates on medications and on re-usable anddisposable items.Your role will assist in transferring patients to and from the Cath Lab forprocedures and report to receiving nursing unit all specifics regardingprocedure performed.What qualifications you will need:Graduate of an accredited CVT program or two or more years of experience as anEP technologist in an EP Lab, or CV Technologist in a Cath Lab.Current BCLS and ACLS CertificationActive status as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Ifa new graduate, must attain credential within 1 year of eligibility dateOne year experience as an EP Technologist or equivalent clinical experience aspart of education.The Medical Center of Aurora, the first community hospital in the DenverMetro area to receive three-time Magnet designation for nursing excellence bythe American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), is a 346-bed acute carehospital located in Aurora, Colorado.
