Nature of Work:
The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Developmental Pediatrics at the
University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty
member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. This position will be
at our Children's Colorado Briargate location in Colorado Springs, an
extension of the Developmental Pediatrics program located at the main
Anschutz Medical Campus. We provide interdisciplinary, and single
discipline, developmental assessments and management of children and
youth with a wide array of developmental and behavioral problems.
Developmental Pediatrics is part of the Neuroscience Institute at Children's
Hospital Colorado, which also includes Child Neurology and Neurosurgery.
We also work closely with Child Psychiatry, Genetics, Rehabilitation
Medicine, and Special Care Clinic, with ample collaborative opportunities.
Applicants should be board certified in Pediatrics and board eligible or
certified in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) or
Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDD). We have a busy clinical practice,
an ACGME accredited DBP fellowship program, and opportunities for
collaborative and independent research. The Assistant or Associate
Professor will provide direct clinical care to children and youth with a wide
array of developmental and behavioral problems. Teaching responsibilities
may include interactions with developmental behavioral pediatric fellows,
residents, medical students, and other learners. Applicants should have a
strong commitment to education and clinical care. Scholarly activities and/or teaching are encouraged although not required.
Examples of Work Performed:
Maintain full time clinical effort (1.0 cFTE).
This includes provision of direct clinical care to children with a wide array
of developmental and behavioral problems, and provision of
psychopharmacological management of attention and other behavior
problems.
- Outpatient clinics will be a mix of interdisciplinary clinics and individual
consultations and follow-up visits at Children's Colorado Outpatient Care at
Briargate, Colorado Springs.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
MD or DO
Board certified in Pediatrics
Board certified or board eligible in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or
Neurodevelopmental Disabilities
Conditions of Employment:
- Must successfully pass a 10-panel drug test through Children's Hospital
Colorado
- Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal and sex-offender
background check
Preferred Qualifications:
Successful completion of accredited DBP or NDD training programs.
Experience working in interdisciplinary developmental assessment teams.
Ability to provide psychopharmacological management of attention and
other behavioral problems.
Competencies:
- Ability to perform well as a team member, as well as function
independently.
Good interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and experience of interdisciplinary assessment and
management of developmental and behavioral problems, and special
health care needs, of children from infancy through adolescence.
- Should be invested in the education and career development of
others.
